internalin

internalin
Surface proteins (InlA, InlB) that mediate entry of Listeria monocytogenes into epithelial cells that express E-cadherin or L-CAM. There appears to be an internalin multigene family (Inl C, D, E, F) although not all the products are involved in bacterial entry into cells.
